Miranda is a highly experienced lawyer whose practice focuses on corporate & commercial law, real estate law and commercial financing & secured transactions. Miranda holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Law.
Miranda was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1999 after obtaining a law degree and a Masters in law in the United Kingdom. Miranda completed a Masters in Business Administration from Leicester University in 2006 and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2011.
During her legal career, Miranda has worked for some of the most well respected international law firms in global markets including London, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Qatar. She has represented governments, multi-national companies, major financial institutions, businesses and individuals.
Her practice includes advising on a wide variety of corporate and commercial matters for large, small and medium-sized businesses including: commercial finance; business structuring (corporations, partnerships and professional corporations); shareholder agreements; commercial contracts of all types ranging from licensing and distribution agreements to aircraft purchase agreements; sales and purchases of businesses; and complex reorganizations including family trusts and business succession planning.
Miranda’s real estate practice covers: residential and commercial real estate sales, purchases, mortgages, refinances and transfers; drafting and review of commercial leases, solar leases and other green energy agreements.
Miranda has lived in Barrie with her family since 2005 and in her spare time is an avid runner, coaches cross-country running at a local elementary school, runs a support group for parents of children with special needs and teaches Business Law at Lakehead University. She is a former director of the Business Enterprise Resource Network.
